Genevieve Lamancusa, FNP-C
Genevieve is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, qualifying her to diagnose and treat individuals in all stages of life. She began her career in health care by working for a homecare organization in Boulder, Colorado, providing care for the elderly and disabled in their homes. Since that time, she has logged over 18 years of experience in various areas of patient care (Certified Nurse Aid in a nursing home in Boulder, Registered Nurse at Boulder Community Hospital, and family practice as a Nurse Practitioner). Highlights include clinical rounds with infectious disease, women’s health, and various primary care clinics. Genevieve also worked in a busy primary care clinic in Montrose before coming to Roots and Branches.
In addition to her clinical experience, Genevieve also has a prolific academic background that includes a Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the prestigious University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and three bachelor’s degrees (a BS in business marketing, a BA in environmental studies, and a BS in nursing). Genevieve has also received training from the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Although Genevieve appreciates and utilizes her in-depth training in conventional medicine, her preference is discovering the deeper underlying causes of a patient’s illness.
In addition to partnering with patients experiencing complex health care scenarios, Genevieve has developed a passion for helping women thrive while going through perimenopause and the menopausal transition. While this is a normal part of aging, there are many treatments that can make the transition smoother, improving quality of life and overall longevity, especially bioidentical hormone therapy.
In her free time, Genevieve enjoys meditation, hiking and climbing outdoors, and spending time with her husband of 21 years.
